I seriously want to make this again as I’m writing right now. This fast one-pan ham and broccoli pasta was not only amazingly delicious with minimal ingredients, it was so fast! Loved having dinner on the table from start to finish in less than 30 minutes.

The cool thing about this recipe is that you could substitute the broccoli for whatever vegetable you prefer. And, use whatever pasta you have on hand. Minimize trips to the grocery store with this recipe, just use what you have.
To begin, chop half an onion, mince three cloves garlic and dice about two and a half cups ham. I used turkey ham because that’s what I had. You can use regular ham, either way it will be delicious.
Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Add the diced ham and chopped onion and cook for five minutes, stirring often. Add the garlic and stir constantly for about 30 seconds.
Next, add 2 3/4 cup water, eight ounces uncooked penne pasta and two teaspoons chicken flavored Better than Bouillon. Bring this to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for about six minutes. Chop two cups of broccoli into bite-size florets. I love broccoli so I will definitely be adding more next time, adjust the amount to your preference.
Eight ounces of dried pasta is about two cups. Like I said before, feel free to use whatever shape pasta you have on hand. I like to use Better than Bouillon instead of chicken broth in my recipes. It is much more cost effective to have a small jar of the bouillon on hand than to have cartons or cans of chicken broth. I make my own chicken broth when I cook a whole chicken but I never have enough for all the recipes I make. If you would rather use chicken broth, reduce the water to one cup and add about 14 ounces broth.
Give everything a good stir and add your broccoli. Stir this in, replace the lid and allow the pasta to simmer for another three to four minutes. Check pasta to make sure it is tender and cooked through.
When the pasta is al dente, add 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Stir this in and allow it to heat through about two minutes, until thickened and creamy. Be careful with the salt in this recipe as ham is already very high in sodium. I love pepper so I added lots of that!
Sprinkle with a little Parmesan and try really hard not to eat the whole thing in one sitting. Seriously, there were no leftovers of this when the four of us had it for dinner so if you are serving more, I’d double the recipe for sure. I’m excited to try this with different veggies and pasta, enjoy!

Above you will find some of the equipment I used while preparing this fast one-pan ham and broccoli pasta. I’d be lost without my extra-large wooden cutting board, I use it daily if not more. My Victorinox knives are my favorite, I reach for them first every time. I love my electric skillet for recipes like this, with its high sides and glass lid, it makes it even easier to make great dishes. It is also very handy for grilled sandwiches and pancakes. Like I mentioned above, I prefer to use the chicken Better than Bouillon in place of chicken broth in most recipes. It is simply easier for me to keep on hand.
