There’s nothing better than coming home after a long day to an amazing smelling home. That’s only one of the reasons I love using my slow cooker. Enjoy a “steak dinner in-a-bowl” with this super simple Soy-Free Slow Cooker Steak and Vegetable Soup. Made with a easy homemade steak sauce, this hearty soup packs a little kick but can easily be adjusted if you’re cooking for little ones. Gluten and dairy-free, also!

To make your own Soy-Free Slow Cooker Steak and Vegetable Soup, you will need: 1.5 pounds red potatoes (scrubbed and diced), 1.5 pounds steak (cut into bite-sized pieces), 1-12 ounce bag frozen vegetables (I use broccoli, cauliflower and carrots), 1 onion (chopped), 1 cup homemade steak sauce (recipe here), 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne, 2 teaspoons dried parsley, 4 cups beef broth, and 2 cups water.
Combine all the ingredients in your slow cooker (I used a 6 quart), cover and cook on HIGH for 5-6 hours or LOW for 8-10 hours.
If you don’t feel the need to make this soup soy-free, feel free to substitute store-bought steak sauce for the homemade. If you do want to keep this recipe soy-free, make sure to read the label of the broth, some brands may contain soy. Click below for my Soy-Free Homemade Steak Sauce and to read about why I’m eliminating soy from our diet. Adjust the amount of cayenne if you don’t love spicy food or are cooking for little ones.
